Over 30 years ago, Coach Daryl set out to answer one question: what truly separates good athletes from elite performers?
What he found went beyond skill. After watching a highly talented player fall short due to gaps in speed and strength, Daryl built a system to develop the complete athlete, physically and mentally. That system has since helped athletes at every level reach their potential, from beginners to professionals across multiple sports, including NHL players Eric Lindros, Max Domi, Tyler Toffoli, Josh Ho-Sang, and Riley Smith, NFL player L.P. Ladouceur, CFL players Frank Hoffman, Karim Grant, and Steve Young, and Olympic beach volleyball athlete Mark Heese.
Beyond elite sport, Daryl co-founded the 60 Min Kids Club, a physical literacy program that was active in 300+ schools across 9 countries. He was also the featured coach in a CBC 2-part series, run run revolution that earned 3 Canadian Screen Awards, and he was spotlighted by TSN in a Black History Month feature, Why Not Me?
His credentials are equally strong. He holds degrees in Kinesiology and Education from the University of Toronto, spent 6 years teaching with the TDSB and 8 years instructing Kinesiology at U of T, and holds certifications including CSCS, Olympic Weightlifting, FMS, Precision Nutrition, and Mental Performance Mastery.
The result is a proven, science-based approach that builds stronger, faster, and more confident athletes, ready for whatever comes next.

Sessions can be in-person, online, or a blend to fit your lifestyle. Sessions in gym are either at AK Fitness located at Don Mills/Lawrence or a Personal Training studio in the downtown Yorkville area.
